Here is a list of some downloads I have set up for NSV.
The reason i have set them up is because some of them may be hard to find and get.
Edit 23/04/2008 – Two links fixed, thanks for reporting them ![]()
Edit 16/05/2008 – Sendspace.com added as mirror
- VP61_VP62 encoder for NSV – Mirror
- AACPLUS Encoder for NSV – Mirror
- X264 NSV Encoder DLL – Mirror (You also need download below)
- X264 vfw encoder – Mirror (Needed to encode x264 for NSV)
If you are looking for a download, add a comment, or send me a mail, and I’ll see if I can get it up here.

Mate, how can i find u on some chat client…i want to ask u someth about streaming with h.264 codec…
Tnx in advance…
If you check out the “About Me” page, you will find my MSN and Xfire, but I can also come on AIM if absolutely needed.
VP61_VP62 encoder for NSV, links down, please re-upload!
Done
Thanks for this info. If you hadn’t posted this stuff, I wouldn’t be decoding and encoding x264 videos right now.
Keep up the great work!!
test
Can you upload these files to sendspace.com? Megaupload doesnt work in my country. Thanks
Done.
big thanks!
h264 runs like hell. thats one of the cheapest streaming solutions. the format is nearly dead but that doesn’t matter
the big plus: it can be embedded to any website now by using the videolan.org vlc plugin (activex AND mozilla). unfortunately i could test this on windows only. works with firefox 2/3, opera 9, safari, internet explorer 6/7 and vlc 0.8.6+.
but what i really would like to see is a freeframe nsv streaming plugin. any chance to that?
TimVis:
What do you mean by freeframe?
freeframe is a opensource video plugin host commonly used for VJ software.
http://freeframe.sourceforge.net
currently there are 2 streaming plugins (one by bigfug, the other one i forgot) but i don’t know how to feed these inputs to a nsv live encoder. transcoding with vlc would be easy, but the -shout output module doesn’t seem to work for video.

I’m gonna start working on an NSV encoder soon. I’m working on an Media Player for webbrowsers(Mozilla, IE etc.) with NSV support at the moment.
I’ll look into freeframe and see if I can’t include some plugin system as I go.
TimVis:
Hm.. seems like some of your messages got caught as spam, wonder why =/ Well, I have un-spammed them, maybe the system learns from un-spamming =/
maybe because i tried to submit an url
thanks for your attempt with freeframe.
hey i have downloaded a movie and want to encode it to nsv. I have downloaded the nsvtools and use batch encoder with your settings. the problem is that there is only audio not video!
You might be missing the needed codec. Try downloading and installing ffdshow, and the encode again.
I’ve dropped the nsv_encoder_aacplus.dll from above into my NSVTools directory, but the AAC option is not appearing in my encoder config. This is on Vista, but I tried the same thing using the enc_aacplus.dll from Winamp and renaming it on XP. It seems there’s some magic I need to do..?
I’m running a very recent NSVTools (I’m not sure where they put version info) with Slavo Gigas’ VP6 encoder package and no other mods. I want to encode streaming VP6/AAC. Am I headed down the right path?
Thanks!
It should be named nsv_coder_aacplus.dll for it to appear. Not _encoder_ but _coder_ that is =P Try that, and it SHOULD work, but it MIGHT give an error about missing nscrt.dll, this file can be found in the Winamp folder on your computer.
And yes, the VP6/AACP combination is very good
No sooner do I submit the above than I review my resources and realize I should try copying nscrt.dll into the NSVTools folder. Although this did not work on my XP system (perhaps because I didn’t use the download from here), it worked this time! So I’m good to go, or so it seems so far. Thanks for the file.
Just to say thanks for all the hard work you’ve done, and for doing these great tutorials
I’m currently streaming x264 24/7, nsvtools are very stable
I need help with the h264 codec
I have the same problem like Lou Nautique with AAC+
Plugin is in folder and is named nsv_coder_aacplus.dll
Not recognised, VP61 and VP2 working fine with mp3
Hmmm, works about 50% with enc_aacplus.dll from folder \Winamp\Plugins and if you rename file with nsv_coder_aacplus.dll. Next is to try with H264
